The advancements in technology within the last decade has been great, no doubt about it. With new recent breakthroughs in the form of the new iPhone being able to recognise voice recognition to the new announcement that Microsofts Project Natal for the Xbox 360 is set to have full body motion sensing capabilities with no wires and nothing plugged into you in any way at all.
However, what do you do when something go wrong? Many manufacturers are going wrong with repairs because it some cases, the price to repair the item is higher than the price you paid to buy it. For many of the cases, it’s down to the way the product has been made and that’s how the problem has occured. It could be down to more people are playing games due to the huge amount being released within the last few months, or, it could be down to the manufacturers not fixing the problems and just selling more machines.
There is a handy little solution for this and it comes in the form of gadget insurance. This can be bought for up to 5 of any gadgets and it will set you back only 20 pound a month. Although the price does seem high, it’s alot less than if you had to repair just one of your gadgets each month. This is mainly due to the fact that if for instance you were to drop your iPhone it would cost you around 100 to repair. So if you consider the maths, insuring 5 gadgets for 20 pounds a month isn’t too much to pay to avoid paying 100 pound everytime you drop your phone. Also, when it comes to repairing gaming consoles such as the Nintendo Wii, they can charge you up to 180 pounds for the repair, making it cheaper to buy a new console.
You don’t have to pay to insure 5 items though, whether it’s an iPod or an Xbox, you can simply pay for iPod insurance seperately. Unfortunately, a great deal of home emergency insurance policies don’t cover your gadgets like iPods and gaming consoles.
